Generally, metal mirrors are the preferred choice for high-powered CO₂ lasers and, in this respect, LT Ultra has both a comprehensive selection of individual mirror units and complete assemblies together with a complimentary selection of add-ins that include beam bending units, beam expanders and beam shuttles.

The configuration of the process head is determined by the application, and is constructed from individual components to meet the customer’s requirements. The possibilities are near limitless and range from the simple welding head to the more complex 3D process head, which is suited to both laser welding and cutting tasks.

The clear aperture (=Ø of the housing or that which the integrated optics can cover) of the standard components is 40 mm, 50 mm or 60 mm and even 100 mm can be catered for in specialist applications. All optical units have interfaces for direct water cooling, are available with different coatings, and the majority of them are immediately available stock items.
