Back in 1995 LT Ultra began developing, among other things, beam guidance components for CO2 laser welding machines.

Direct water-cooled large-aperture metal mirrors are generally required for the safe handling of, for example, tailored blanks at high laser powers of 6 to 10 kW during the welding process.

Since those early days, we have been manufacturing precision swivel and rotational axes - an activity that is continually being improved upon and adapted to meet ever-changing market requirements and has become an important strategic component of our product spectrum.

In 2003 we began to develop our own adaptive mirror systems, which gave us an entry into the world of CO2 laser cutting. These mirrors, with their deformable surfaces, allow the laser manufacturer to set up and maintain a particular beam diameter or focal position across the whole work area. In addition, the manufacturer can also rapidly adjust the focal position without any additional mechanical effort. We are now supplying this equipment to well known internationally active machine manufacturers.

New developments include process heads for cutting, welding or both which, of course, are also available in combination with rotational or swiveling axes and even with torque drives. We are also in the process of extending our product portfolio with heads and collimation units for multi-KW Nd:YAG or fiber lasers.

Naturally, years of operation in this diverse field have resulted in a great deal of working knowledge, so much in fact that we have created another main business pillar that concerns itself with customized components. More accurately, complete customized optics of the highest quality. The type and form these optics take is fully dependent on the laser wavelength and its power, which generally are predefined by the customer.

LT-Ultra delivers plug-and-play components according to functional specifications to suit applications such as those commonly found in the semi-conductor or photovoltaic industries. Therefore, our product range is particularly comprehensive and extremely varied.
