The MMC-410 series is equipped with a natural granite base arranged in a “T” configuration. Both slides and the workholding spindle are mounted to a granite base as well.

The Z-axis, with hydrostatic bearing, is equipped with a milling spindle with aerostatic bearing, allowing workpiece-diameters of up to 250 mm (9.5"). As an optional feature, a workpiece measuring system is integrated into the Z-axis.

The X-axis, with hydrostatic bearing, is equipped with a vacuum-chuck. Other kinds of chucks are possible. The two slide axes of the MMC-410 ultra-precision machine are driven by servo motors with hydrostatic lead screw.

Through the use of diamond tools, surfaces can be achieved with optical quality for a wide range of crystals, non-ferrous metals and polymers.
